BASS CAMP is Big Smoke Brass' follow up to their debut album From a Block Away, released in 2021.
Recorded in August 2020 during the first summer of the Covid-19 pandemic, this EP is a testament to the persistent spirit of the band. Following several months without performances and the departure of two band members, BSB came together to bring live music back to Toronto in Summer 2020, culminating in the recording of this EP.
Recorded in a century-old barn on a farm in rural Ontario, the band used entirely their own equipment and abilities to bring this music to life. All of the songs on Bass Camp were written in 2020, most during that first pandemic Summer. Each member of the 4-piece lineup contributed songs to the EP, along with all of the post-production and design also being handled by band members. Bass Camp represents a strange & challenging but very special time in the band's life, when we were re-taught the value of making music together and sharing it far & wide, all in the name of community and love. We hope you enjoy BASS CAMP.
